Wellbeing & Support
At Sophia Mundi we deeply value inclusivity and diversity within our school community. We recognise the significance of these values in fostering a positive, kind, and tolerant school culture, which is integral to our ethos.
Active student involvement and a sense of community spirit are fundamental aspects of our educational approach. We encourage students to actively participate in every aspect of their school day, fostering a strong sense of belonging and unity.
These values are supported both in our day-to-day teaching and learning in the classroom and through our wellbeing and inclusion programs.
In the Primary School
The class teacher takes a coordinating and pastoral responsibility for the class. This is supported by the teacher working in three-year cycles with the class.
The Wellbeing Officer supports the class teacher and works directly and discretely with individual students when needed.
In the Secondary School
A Class Guardian takes on a pastoral responsibility for the class and maintains their relationship with the class and their parents in three-year cycles (Year 7-9, Year 10-12).
The Life Skills program begins in the secondary school. Students have weekly sessions to identify and discuss strategies across a range of relevant issues and topics for the; Gender and Sexuality, Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships, Drug Education and many other topics. This program also engages a number of guest speakers and organisations.
The Wellbeing Officer and Guardian work directly and with students either 1:1 or in small groups to support their mental health and wellbeing.
The Careers Counsellor supports student in the senior secondary with career pathways, and tertiary entrance.
