Getting to Sophia Mundi

Location

Our school is located in the Heritage-listed St Mary’s building of the historic Abbotsford Convent arts precinct. Overlooking a bend of the Yarra River and the Collingwood Children’s Farm, the School site is located approximately 4km from the Melbourne CBD. Our school is easily accessed by public transport (buses and trains) and is on the main Yarra bike path.

Walking & Riding

The ride or walk to Sophia Mundi is beautiful, with the Capital City cycling and walking path directly passing the Abbotsford Convent precinct. The St Heliers Street turn-off is opposite the entrance to the Collingwood Children’s Farm. It is a lovely way to start and end the school day.

There is sheltered bike parking just inside the entrance to the Abbotsford Convent, or outdoor bike parking just outside the school gates.

Public Transport

Catch a Mernda or Hurstbridge line train to Victoria Park Station. The train station is a 10 – 15 minute walk to the Abbotsford Convent, or you can catch the 200 or 207 bus down Johnston Street to the Clarke Street stop. The bus stop is a 3 – 5 minute walk to the Convent.

Parking

All day parking is available in the car park directly across from the Abbotsford Convent on St Heliers Street. The machines accept credit cards, notes and gold coins. Funds from the car park go towards the restoration and daily operation of the Convent and also supports the Collingwood Children’s Farm.

Inside the Convent Precinct

To find the school in the Abbotsford Convent, follow the signs to St Mary’s.

Go straight ahead from the main entrance, down the hill past the Rosina buildings, following the path around to the left past the farm paddocks and the oak trees until you get to the vine covered entrance to reception.
