Scholarships

Sophia Mundi Steiner School offers a range of scholarships to celebrate aspiration and achievement, and to foster access and diversity.

Our scholarships seek to recognise the capabilities of talented students and are specifically aimed at widening access to the exceptional education provided by Sophia Mundi Steiner school and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program.

Scholarship applications for 2025 are now open to all current and future students entering Years 7 – 11.  Scholarships can be awarded for 1 to 3 years depending on the year of entry and range from 50% to 100% of tuition fees.

All applicants will be required to submit a Scholarship Application Form and register for a scholarship test. Applicants must also be Australian Citizens or permanent residents.  Please read the Scholarship Guide prior to submitting your application.

Academic Scholarship

Academic Scholarships are available for current and future students entering into Years 7 – 11 in 2025.  These scholarships range from 50% to 75% of tuition fees and the number of available scholarships spaces are limited. Scholarships are awarded based on student merit as measured by: an aptitude test, an interview, community and cultural involvement and past school reports indicating academic and behavioural standards.

Students applying for this scholarship will need to complete the Scholarship Application Form, pay the registration fee of $140 and sit the scholarship aptitude test.

Registration for the first round of scholarships closes on 22 July 2024.

The Scholarship test will be conducted on the 27 July 2024 at Sophia Mundi.

 

Music Scholarship

Music Scholarships may be awarded to current and new students entering Year 10 & 11 who demonstrate excellence in music knowledge and musical performance as demonstrated by Minimum AMEB level (or equivalent) at the time of application of Grade 6 AMEB for instrumental/vocal performance and Grade 4 music theory. These scholarships are for 100% of tuition fees.

The number of scholarships spaces are limited. In addition to excellence in music, these scholarships are awarded based on student merit as measured by an aptitude test, an interview, community and cultural involvement and past school reports indicating academic and behavioural standards.

Shortlisted students are invited to audition at Sophia Mundi where they will perform two contrasting pieces. Candidates will be asked to take sight reading and aural tests, and technical work may be requested. Non-pianists must perform at least one piece with piano accompaniment. If piano accompaniment is required for the audition pieces, families are required to arrange external piano accompanists.
